For the whole body skin check you will need to undress to your underwear. You will be offered a gown or cover sheet to reduce your feeling of being exposed. A nurse can be present if you feel more comfortable.
A follow up appointment may be required. In some cases, the suspicious region will need to be removed under local anaesthetic. This may either be done at the clinic or through referral to a specialist.
At your skin check you can ask for an assessment of single moles, or a have a full skin check. Skin cancer can occur anywhere on the body, even where there has been no sun exposure.
